On-the-Day Identification — What You Need to Bring

Every document you bring must be an original (not a photocopy or digital image, except an e-Visa), currently valid (not expired), and in the name you used when booking your test — if your name has changed since your ID was issued, bring original evidence of the change too (such as a marriage certificate or deed poll). Without valid, matching ID, you will not be admitted to your test, and the test fee will not be refunded.

Primary ID (Bring One)

One of the following, showing your full name, a recognisable photo, and your signature:

• ✓Passport (UK or international)
• ✓Photocard driving licence (UK or European)
• ✓eVisa (via your UKVI account) — the current replacement for the Biometric Residence Permit/Card, which is no longer issued

No Primary ID? Bring Two Instead — One From Each List

List A (must show your name and photo)

• ✓Passport without a signature
• ✓European national identity card
• ✓CitizenCard or other PASS-accredited proof-of-age card
• ✓Young Scot card with PASS hologram
• ✓CSCS card or CSCS Partner card
• ✓UK Armed Forces ID card (serving or veteran)
• ✓UK Home Office travel document

List B (must show your name and signature)

• ✓Credit or debit card
• ✓Paper driving licence (issued before 31 March 2000)

Neither of the Above?

In exceptional circumstances, an ID Waiver Form can be used instead — this requires a countersigned photo and signature, and must be arranged in advance. Contact us if you think you'll need this.

Under 16?

A separate Under-16 Confirmation of Identification form is required, completed alongside parental consent and signed by a responsible person at your school or college. Contact us for this form.
