Level 2 NVQ Ceiling Fixing

 The NVQ Level 2 Ceiling Fixing assessment and training course has been developed for ceiling worker that have sufficient expertise in their field and those who can demonstrate their required Ceiling Fixing, skills as written in the National Occupational Standards.

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Ceiling Fixing assessment course is designed for people who have a lot of real-world experience that shows they can pass the Ceiling Fixing certificate.

Participants can show their knowledge of Ceiling Fixing and experience through this assessment and training session. Additionally, it enables a qualified worker to demonstrate his or her abilities in a real workplace setting, demonstrating their suitability to execute Ceiling Fixing tasks in the building industry.

After submitting an application for the NVQ Level 2 Ceiling Fixing, you will be allocated a dedicated assessor who will work with you to earn your qualification during the whole programme.

The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Interior Systems (Construction) qualification provides a nationally recognised qualification for those working in this specialised area of construction. Candidates can follow one of 4 Pathways relating to their work roles:

The Certificate will develop knowledge and skills in areas such as general health, safety and welfare; productive working practices; and moving, handling and storing resources.

Rationale and purpose of this qualification

This qualification is aimed at those who are in work and are looking for recognition of their prior learning and experience.

Its primary purpose is to confirm the learner’s occupational competence in wood occupations. As a work-related, competence-based qualification it provides confirmation to employers, industry managers and card schemes that the learner has the skills and knowledge needed to meet the nationally recognised standard to carry out the role.

Learners who achieve this qualification can use it to gain employment, to progress in the industry, or to work towards another qualification (see Progression).

Objectives

The qualification is designed to meet the following objectives:

  • Confirming knowledge, understanding and skills
  • Providing access to a relevant card scheme

Recognition

This qualification is supported by the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS).

CSCS provides a registration card scheme acknowledged by industry for those involved in construction. The scheme recognises skills, knowledge and understanding, competence and qualifications.

What does this qualification cover?

As this is a competence-based qualification, learners will be acquiring the knowledge and skills required through either on-the-job experience or in a learning environment.

To achieve the whole qualification, learners need a minimum of 41 credits. They must complete between three and seven mandatory units plus between one and three optional units from the qualification structure. (See Qualification content and delivery tools.)

There are no specific skills, knowledge, understanding or any other qualifications that must be achieved in order to start this qualification, however learners must have the potential and opportunity to gain this qualification successfully.
